Frequently Asked

Questions

General

Want a course that's not coming to your city?

We run 25 courses in all — not every one hits every city in any 18-month window. If the course you need isn't on the calendar above, tell us. We can bring it to you on site, or set up a public session you can send a team to (and often group you with other companies who want the same course). Check out all of our courses, email claire@assetschools.com and let her know which course/s, and we'll come straight back to you to see if we can make it work.

Do I need to bring anything else?

Just a positive approach to learning and a curious attitude! Some courses require answering a few questions. Everything else is provided at the course.

Is there a discounted accommodation rate to stay at the hotel?

Yes, there is. We will provide the details to you when we confirm your registration.

What is the dress code?

Casual, casual, and casual! You are offsite or out of the office for a few days. It’s important to prioritize comfort, especially for longer training sessions. Choose clothing that allows you to move comfortably and doesn’t restrict your movements.

How do we get our supervisors/superintendents to do the training?

A question that gets asked at most courses – and a difficult one to answer!  Here are some strategies to encourage their participation:

Highlight the benefits: Clearly communicate the benefits of the training to the managers and supervisors. Explain how it will enhance their understanding of the work being done by their team members, improve their ability to provide guidance and support, and ultimately contribute to better overall performance and results.

Emphasize the impact: Illustrate how their involvement in training will positively impact their own career growth and development. Show how a better understanding of their team's work can lead to improved decision-making, more efficient processes, and increased team productivity, which in turn can reflect positively on their own performance.

Provide flexible options: Offer flexible training options that accommodate their schedules and preferences. Show them both the public and onsite options. Flexibility will make it easier for them to fit the training into their busy routines.

Talk about the interactivity: Explain that the training uses case studies, real-life examples, and practical exercises, discussions, and group activities to encourage active participation and create a collaborative learning environment.

What is the networking evening?

Glad you asked! At the end of day one of all our public courses, we invite all students to join the instructor and us for drink and a chat. This gives everyone that chance to get to know each other better, and to reflect on the day’s learning, share stories and experiences. For many students this opportunity is one of the highlights of the training course.

Can I continue to connect and interact with other students after the course?

Yes!  The good news is that even though your course is completed, learning and capability development continues. You are now a member of an amazing online community for Australian and NZ Maintenance and Reliability professionals, giving you 100%-free access to:

  • Content hub with presentations, video, white papers, and research reports.
  • Fortnightly podcast, whitepaper, and video to your inbox.
  • Ability to connect with others in the MAINSTREAM community and join discussions.
  • Monthly thought leader masterclasses.
Is there any pre-training preparation required?

Depends on the course. Some courses require you to complete a questionnaire.

What are start and finish times of the training?

Very much depends on the course. However, as a general guideline, each day starts at 7.30am or 8.00am and finishes at 4.00pm or 4.30pm.

Pricing & Payment

How do I pay?

Once you register your and/or your team’s details, you can choose to pay directly with a credit card, or you can choose to be invoiced.

Is it possible to get a quote to raise a PO?

Yes. Absolutely! You can request a quote 2 ways:

  • By completing our fast and easy quote request form
  • By calling Claire on +61 400 553 600 or Hannah on +61 424 054 729.
Is there a group discount?

In some circumstances, we do offer group discounts, depending on the size of the group and the total number courses you’re interested in. Best to call Claire on +61 400 553 600 or Hannah on +61 424 054 729 so that they can tailor your requirements.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

We totally understand that cancellations are inevitable. However, due to limited seating and prepaid costs, it is very difficult to replace a cancelled seat within 30 days of a course. Here is a summary:

If cancellation is received in writing prior to and up to 30 days before the course start date, we provide a full credit (or substitute at no charge).

If cancellation is received in writing prior to and up to 15-29 days before the course start date, we provide a full credit less 25% fee to cover administration, venue, and catering, and course materials (or substitute at no charge).

If cancellation is received in within 14 days course of start date, there is no credit available but you can substitute at no charge.

Training

Are courses available online?

Some courses are available online. You can identify them on the training course menu.

Do you provide bespoke training options?

Is private training at my site or facility possible?

Yes. Approximately 50% of our courses are conducted onsite. These can either be conducted in one of your training facilities or at hotel or training space close by. If you’d like to find out more about bringing private and/or bespoke training to your site or plant, please contact Steve on + 61 403 809 312

Who can I chat with to find out more?
